The Honda HA-420 HondaJet is a very light business jet produced by the Honda Aircraft Company. Its origins can be traced sketches made by Michimasa Fujino between 1997-1999.
The Hondajet features a composite fuselage (similar to the Beechcraft/Raytheon Premier) and an aluminium wing. It has a retractable tricycle landing gear with both main and nose landing gear being single wheeled. Perhaps the most distinctive feature of its design are its two GE Honda HF120 turbofans engines mounted on pylons above the wing, a configured called Over-The-Wing Engine Mount, or OTWEM. This concept maximizes cabin space by removing the structure required to mount engines on the rear of the fuselage.
After validating the design at the Boeing wind tunnel its maiden flight occured on the 3rd December 2003, with FAA type certificate in December 2015 and the first delivery occurring in the same month.
