The Cessna Citation I (Model 500) is a small sized light business jet powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada JTD15D-1 turbofans. It was Cessna’s first venture into the business aircraft market. Receiving its certification in 1971 it established Cessna as a maker of dependable, rugged business aircraft, and an alternative to the faster Learjet 25.
From its inception the Citation 500 was intended to be a competitor to twin turboprops. However these retained an advantage over the Citation and Learjet by being approved to be operated by one pilot. With the removal of this restriction in the late 1970s Cessna were able to develop the Model 501 Citation I/SP (SP referring to single-pilot). The Citation I/SP commenced delivered in early 1977, with production ending in in 1985. Allaero hold large stocks of Cessna Citation parts and can satisfy all your Citation parts requirements.
